Creating IMPACT With Your Work is Key

Most of us in the professional photographic community have been in some way involved in print competitions. From local and regional to national and international, we have all come to learn that photos with impact, is where it's at

As with just about any product, goods, or services, there has always been good, better and best. In many cases the difference between good and best is a simple increase or change in improving the quality. The same applies in photography. When applying a subtle change of camera angle, an exposure correction or even a lens swap, these little changes can yield huge results in terms of quality.

What follows is a series of small changes in an effort to improve the finished look of the image. Again, consider that there is often one or two small adjustments made that often are all that is necessary.

A small shift upward of the camera and we can still illustrate a big crowd but in a way that is considerably more flattering to the majesty of place.

A beautiful serene scene but lacking in scope just a little. Let's re-frame horizontal and see what the results might be.

Subtle enhancements are often the right choice, not large, sweeping and time consuming edits.  Try to pay attention to the details.  As we've all been told our entire lives, "it's all about the small stuff..."
