November 1 & 2, 2024
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Location: DFW - Tru by Hilton Coppell DFW Airport North
Join us for an intensive, hands-on, 2-day workshop that is laser-focused just on Canon cameras. Leave all your distractions behind and learn about your Canon DSLR or Mirrorless camera system and how to take better photographs using the equipment already in your camera bag.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned professional or an aspiring amateur; you will discover more than you ever thought possible. With an emphasis on the newer mirrorless technology, you’ll explore all of your camera’s major systems.
Today's complex camera systems benefit the experienced photographer, helping bring extremely challenging images to life. But these benefits come at a cost, an increased complexity that can often spell disaster for the unprepared photographer.
Bob Malish from Canon will join Tony and Rob. Bob is one of those guys who travel the world supporting professional photographers assigned to events like the Superbowl, Olympics, and Formula 1 races. He helps them capture iconic images of world-class athletes, and he can help you capture incredible images of Uncle Louie.
This is “hands-on”? We’ll have a veritable truckload of equipment you can try on for size. Want to see what a lens will look like? Put it on your camera and try it out. Or, use it on one of ours.
Don’t expect any fluff. This isn’t a marketing pitch. This is hardcore learning about the camera system that you know and love. We dig deep into the focusing systems to ensure you know the best settings and techniques to get the sharpest images possible. Explore the exposure systems - even when using a flash. We’ll even talk about the future of photography and how these systems are evolving and where they may be headed.
We’ll have plenty of time during the breaks for hands-on 1-on-1 instruction.
Logistics
Unless otherwise stated, this workshop is offered in the Dallas Fort Worth area. We usually use a hotel near I-635 & 121 (North exit of DFW Airport). The exact location is provided in your confirmation.
Hours
The agenda for each day runs from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
We will break for an hour for lunch. There are many nearby restaurant options.
Format
Most of the time we’ll be presenting and demonstrating the various systems in the Canon cameras. We suggest that you bring your camera - it will be helpful to follow along and we want to make sure you understand each of the topics we cover with your own camera. You don’t need a lot of lenses or other accessories because we’ll have a lot of equipment for you to try while you’re with us.
There will be lots of time to visit one-on-one and to get practical hands-on practice.
This is an independent offering and is not associated with, or sponsored by, Canon.
