Canadian Rockies
The Canadian Rockies - the grand masterpiece of the West. From quiet meadows to thundering waterfalls, towering peaks to misty canyons. There are few words to describe the stunning beauty of this photographer's playground. The area offers a natural richness that is becoming increasingly rare and which has been recognized by being designated a United National World Heritage Site.
The azure blue water from the Kicking Horse River tumbles down the canyon and undercuts the Natural Bridge rock formation in Canada’s Yoho National Park.
The Canadian Rockies National Parks are a collection of four parks that cover 20,000 square kilometers of some of the world's most beautiful sights. We'll base our activities in the picturesque hamlet of Lake Louise where you'll venture out to photograph the azure blue waters of glacier-fed Lake Moraine with the foreboding cliffs of the Wenkchemna Peaks as a backdrop.
You'll explore the uniquely carved limestone of Johnston Canyon on an ingenious suspended walkway that gets you down close to the cascading water and the canyon's seven waterfalls. You'll also find out why the name of the 380 meter-high Takakkaw Falls is Cree for "It is wonderful!"
Our workshop makes Banff National Park our home, one of four interlocking national parks that fall within this beautiful World Heritage site. This puts us right in the middle of some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth.
The September date puts us in the Canadian Rockies at one of the most beautiful times of the year. We are planning on keeping one foot in the summer and one in the winter. The average daily high temperature in Lake Louise is 58° and the low is close to freezing. The surrounding mountains should have a dusting of fresh snow under clear blue skies and summer and winter crowds have moved on.

This is an international workshop and as such there are travel restrictions and requirements for travel to and from Canada.
